location

the location will be jenni's house which is closest to cambridge. We will use her house because our sequence needs to have a kitchen, stairs and hallway, which would be difficult to recreate realistically.

how the film would develop

we have decided that this film would be a thriller/'who done it'. The title sequence shows the initial murder and the actual film would be finding out who killed the woman and why. It would have lots of twists and turns in the story to make it more of a thriller.

animatic

this is our animatic which we made using final cut express. an animatic shows the basic idea of how we want our film to be. it has a soundtrack which was created using garage band.

bloody hand

this is a picture i found on the internet which will resemble the shot of the womans hand dropping to the floor with blood on it.

This is the image that resembles the shot that resemble the sho we will be taking of the stairs when the woman is looking up the stairs.

the next day,( after the titles) someone involded with the character nockes on the door in the morning ( main titles) looking worried, as she enters the house she knows somethings wrong, turns around and see the dead body ( camera moves slowly up her blood covered hand showiing clips of her body) ending frame of person looking shocked with the main titles appear slowly with creepy music.

thriller sequence ideas

when the character cutting the meat walks off to get the kids downstairs for dinner, they should hear a door banging at the bottom of the stairs, looking round confused and unsure, then when they get back in to the kitchen the knife should be gone, again, they look confused but then taken by surprised when stabbed. after you see fall and hand hit the floor, knife hits the floor. killer never seen.

thriller idea's

For our thriller sequence we have thought about out location which could be a kitchen, the film would have a full view of a charcater cutting red meat with blood on the chopping board then cut to a close up of the knife chopping the meat with intence sound of cutting, going to the bottom of the stairs to call the children down for help or dinner, walking back into the kitchen she hears a door creek,looking around to see if anyone is there. as she gets back to the chopping board (camera behind the woman as if it was the killer), suddenly she drops to the floor, close up of her hand landing on the floor dropping the knife.( camera slowly rises to reveal a man walking off from behind with a blood covered carving knife) close up on the knife as he wipes it with a cloth.fades out.

This video has two main settings, a dark room and the city centre. By using two settings we have more of an idea of the settings in the entire film. By using a dark room it is obviously dark which adds to the confusion and uncertainty of the thriller genre. The use of a city centre setting provides many possible situations as it has alot of different locations within it. The music is very eerie which compliments the dark room's anxious and unnerving atmosphere.

Natalie - Thriller sequence practise

My practise thriller title sequence. It was made using Final Cut, for the video, and Garage Band, for the sound. I used different video clips, transitions and text on Final Cut. I learnt how to fade clips into each other. On Garage Band I added music to my title sequence.
